Well, it was my day off...

While trying to get the apartment in half-way decent shape for dinner tonight, I got a call from Cost Plus.

"Doug? It's Trissene.. can you please come in and work a few hours? We are swamped!"

So I did a little over five hours. This means that in the last seven days, I have worked

Thursday, Dec 18 1200-1700
Friday, Dec 19 1930-0030
Tuesday, Dec 23, 1550-2100
and today, 1000-1900.

Nobody can claim that I'm not doing my bit for my corporate masters!

I am wondering one thing.. anybody know California law on time between shifts? Is it 8 hours or 10? Because if it's ten, I'm going to get 8 hours of double time pay for that Sunday shift.

Luckily, there's no way in hell they can schedule me for tomorrow; the store is closed. But Friday? 0400-1300. Yup, four in the blessed AM. Guess we have a lot of set up to do.

It's 8 hours between shifts. I used to do shift work for CYA. Of course, they got away with other things I didn't think were legal, like straight-8's with no lunch break, but they were always pretty adamant about that 8 hour minimum.
