Good thing I'm not armed.

It's over 90. A few days ago, I grabbed an application from Tower Records, which is at the limit of my walking range; about a mile away. At the time, the kid behind the counter told me that they weren't hiring, but were accepting applications.

Today, I hike over with my application, and get told they aren't even accepting applications. Not even for file. I wasted my time.

Had I been armed, I might have made the national news. The utterly dismissive tone in which this overly-pierced kid told me that they weren't taking apps..

Erm, isn't it illegal to not accept applications whenever submitted? I was always under the impression that places of business are required to do so, whether or not they're hiring.

He probably thought that "not taking applications" meant the same thing as having no open positions. He's getting paid near min wage, so expecting intelligent thought out of him is asking a lot.

Or he could just be an obnoxious over studded twerp who should be shot on general principles.

Judge: "Douglas E. Berry, you stand charged with murder in the first degree. How do you plead?"

Doug: "Your Honor, I plead 'Not Guilty' of the charge, by reason that he needed killing."

~witnesses testify concerning the circumstances of the killing~

Judge: "Case dismissed."
