Argh. In a medical way

My current, soon to be ex, doctor, is an idiot. Never mind he can never remember what it is I have, he finds ways to annoy me that are beyond belief.

I'm on California disability because I can't work. This is because I average one seizure a month, and get sick a lot. I also have no energy, and doing an eight-hour day would most likely cause me to seize, get sick, and fall down a great deal. This is a Bad Thing.

So what does this moron do? He keeps extending my disability for one month at a time. Do he think I'm going to suddenly regenerate brain tissue that was traumatized eight years ago? The man has spent barely ten minutes with me, and I've explained over and over how we need this until I hear from SSA.. but he keeps doing this!

So I dropped off my latest paperwork with a letter asking for an extension of several months so I can get set up with a new doctor down in San Jose. The next day I get a call from his equally brain-dead nurse. He's extending my disability to fucking May 7th.

This means that I have to find a new doctor immediately, see him within days of moving, and make him understand that I'm a cancer survivor with a raft of problems. Pisses me the hell off.

Jesus H. Jumping Frog! It's almost like he's being vindictive because you're leaving him.

Hmm... is there a previous Dr (like at the hospital or something) that you can go to and say "dis be an emergency!"

In the mean time, I'll contact the NBS for the moron.

That was my suggestion - call his old neurologist and say "I know you haven't seen me in a year, but I'm in a serious bind, here...."

I'm sure asking this is like trying to teach Grandma how to suck eggs, but have you gotten a complete copy of your medical file from him? Having that in your hand when you walk into a new doctor's office might speed thing up a little.

What's your medical plan?
