Hey, it worked.
After an amazingly light day, I got back to the warehouse at about 1130. Where I was pounced on.
A will-call had left two small boxes behind. We needed to get the material up to the job site in South San Francisco ASAP. Normally, I'd take one of our F-150s (since my usual truck is way too big for carrying two boxes, each about five inches on a side, yes?) after parking my truck. But none of the pick-ups were available. So I made a deal.
I did all my close-out stuff except for clocking out. I then drove my Ranger to SSF, dropped off the boxes, called Rustam so he could run my time card, and headed home.
I'm not begrudging the use of my gas. It saved the company money and these days that's very important.
Still home by 1345.
