I knew I forgot something this morning...

Teeth. I need to put my teeth in if I'm planning on facing the world.

Uncle!!!

It's fast approaching 100° here. The main computer is overheating, and so am I. I think air-conditioning is the better part of valor today. Heading over to the mall. I may catch a movie or two, see if I can't find the new Judas Priest album, and try my new smile on mall girls.

So, what do y'all do to beat the heat?

Gridlore smash puny movie!

The mall was wondefully cool, and pretty crowded with people who also seemed to be in need of a temperate atmosphere. window shopped for a bit, bought Priest's Nostradamus, and decided to see The Incredible Hulk.

Short review: A lot of fun, with nods to us Marvel Zombies and to fans of the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferringo TV series. Not as good as Iron Man, but worth seeing. 3.5 penguins

Don't tell me spoilers. You wouldn't like me when you tell me spoilers. )

They both came out in 1977, and they both changed my life.

Traveller, the way I imagined it..

You expect to see the Beowulf race over your head, pursued by the pirates at the end of that...

Alone again, naturally...

I know she's only away for two days, but I miss Kirsten. Heard from her today, she's having a better time than she expected.

One of two things needs to happen.

We either need a new computer with massive heat sinks and a fan that would feel at home on the Altamont Pass, or we need to move to a place that was built sometime after the end of WWII and incorporates such modern concepts as insulation.

It's bloody 2100 hours, and the main computer is still giving me the overheat alarm after ten minutes of use. Mr. Bigglesworth is a fine machine, no doubt, but the computer is our sole remaining CD player. I can't listen to, let alone review, the new Priest when the computer keeps crapping out!!!
