Heavy Metal Sunday

Today we present Helloween - I Want Out. I have to say this is one of the funniest videos I've seen in a while, a fantastic parody of every heavy-metal music video cliche found in 80's heavy metal vids. Enjoy.

These guys have reached Spinal Tap levels of drama in their 23 year history. Check out the Wiki article.

OK, it got better.

Finished Bova's The Precipice. It did get better, and I'll be checking out the next book in the series.

Rather strange dream.

I was driving around a large mall parking lot in my truck. It was dark (either night or very cloudy) and the area looked like there had been a heavy rain. I come across a man who is waving me down. He's standing next to a conex container and he insists that I'm there to pick it up. I try to explain that this isn't something I do, when he screams "the why are you wearing that?" and points to my shirt. I look down, and I'm wearing my PODS uniform.

That's all I remember, but is it a bad sign that my work-related dreams are jumping careers?

Wait 'Till Next Year.... Again.

Cleveland Browns: 20
San Francisco 49ers: 7

sigh. Well, what could we expect when our starting quarterback was Chris Weinke. This is a guy who, until two weeks ago, was keeping in shape by helping out at his local high school by throwing passes to the varsity receivers. High School! Not even to a freaking NCAA Division III school! The guy had basically had three days to learn the playbook and a week to figure out everyones' names.

So we finish the season at 5-11. Very disappointing. However, we did finish with better record than the Silver & Blech team across the Bay (Raiders end their season 4-12) and the hated Rams (St. Louis finishes 3-13.) Miami wins the First Overall Pick Award, going 1-15.

A couple of bright spots. Frank Gore gained over 1100 yards on the ground behind a questionable offensive line, and led the team in receptions with 53. Tight End Vernon Davis also had a very good year. But the standout was rookie linebacker Patrick Willis. A ProBowl selection and probable NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year, Willis had 162 tackles (123 solos,) 3.0 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.

GO NINERS!!!
