PODS flashback

I had a fun moment today. If by "fun" you mean annoying and difficult.

The drop (one bundle of all-thread and a box of bolts, nuts, and washers) was in Blackhawk, a enclave for the extremely rich nestled up against Mount Diablo. Most of the place is wrapped around two world-class golf courses. Doing some checking, the cheap properties here start at around $2.5 million. Get further in, and the values skyrocket.

But making a delivery is a passport to admire the McMansions, and I was enjoying the views, some of the water features (lots of artificial waterfalls and the like) and the looks I was getting for driving my big-ass truck with Judas Priest blasting down their quiet, oh-so-rich streets.

Then I found my street, and looked for the address. Flashback to Ben Lomond! My address was a driveway between two houses, a sharply curving, steep driveway. Making life more interesting was all the cars belonging to the workers. I basically had to thread a needle with private cars on one side and a pretty good drop off on the other.

Here, see for yourself.

That curving "road" is the driveway. Picture cars parked solidly on the right edge. Add in a lot of trucks and construction materials at the top. Big fun.

At least I didn't have to back in and try to maneuver Podzilla. When it was time to leave, they helped me do a three point turn so I was facing the right way coming down.

Interesting to see how the wealthy live.

One more day, then I get a three day weekend.

I admit it.

I am the father of Anna Nicole Smith's child.

Hey, claiming that seems to be the in thing to do, so I thought I'd get in line.
