Pennies from Austin...

As I was leaving work, one of my co-workers noticed me pulling GURPS Traveller: Starships of the shelf where I keep my stuff. I showed it to her, explaining that this was the kind of stuff I write myself.

Wandering home, I realized that a royalty check should be due soon.. and wouldn't it be nice if it was around a hundred bucks? I could up my bike budget, treat myself to some pizza, maybe even buy those July 4th Giants tickets. But judging from checks in the recent past, the check would be for roughly $30.

I stop buy the mailbox, and find a letter from SJG.. hey! I got my check! Took it home, opened it to see, and I earned..

$108.72

Ground Forces sold 303 copies in the fouth quarter of 2003! That compares to the anemic sales of less than forty in the third quarter! Woo-Hoo!

I have funds! Yay!

LJ's mind is in the gutter.

In the previous post, I dropped the first "e" from "where." The spell-checker's suggested replacement was whore.

Again, I hit a good stride...

On alt.atheism.

Recently, we've dealt with a brand of fundie who claims that because certain features written about in Jerusalem still exist, it proves the entire Bible is true. Another person pointed out that he lives in New Orleans, the setting for the majority of Ann Rice's vampire books) and has been to many of the places written about in those stories. This is where I come it.

It helps if you know something about The Maltese Falcon )

Since a guillotine on the South Lawn isn't an option...

In an attempt to escape responsibility for the misleading statements that led the nation to war, President Bush has announced plans to form an independent inquiry to look into what went wrong. An inquiry would serve the Bush administration well: it would envelop the issue in a fog of uncertainty, deflect blame onto the intelligence services, and push any political damage into 2005, after the upcoming election.

But the facts need no clarification. Despite repeated warnings from the CIA and Defense Intelligence Agency, President Bush and his administration hyped and distorted the threat that Iraq posed. And now that reality is setting in, the President seeks to pin the blame on someone else. We can't let him.

Congress has the power to censure the President -- to formally reprimand him for his betrayal of the nation's trust. If ever there was a time to use this function, it is now. Join the call for Congress to censure President Bush now at:
