Most of these idiots drove to the store, which worries me.

We went shopping today, as both of us being home means that food is being consumed at a frightening rate. So well-equipped with masks, we boldly ventured forth.

Our local Safeway has done a great job of adapting to the requirements concerning spacing, number of people in the store, etc., Today there was a new wrinkle. All the aisles had directional arrows turning each aisle into one-way passages.

In theory, anyway. About half the shoppers were utterly oblivious. Which lead to predictable jams, which destroyed the concept of social distancing.

People are morons, but I got cookies.

The store I went to today has done the arrows on the floor... and tape marks for waiting lines with 6 foot spacing, and they intersect in ways that make staying 6 feet apart quite impossible. Twice I went down an aisle, got what I needed, and retreated the "wrong" way rather than get into the tangle near the registers.

No arrows for traffic management where I shop, but the shoppers seem to be behaving themselves. Still, even with a max of 30 customers in the store at a time, there's a constant game of "bumper cars" that we all find ourselves forced to participate in, so as to avoid accidents and worse.
