(I was at Nationals Park for a similar first inning last year-- the opposing team had 6 runs on the board and the bases loaded before there was a single out. We switched pitchers and gave up still more runs. We were down 11-0 by the time we got out of the first inning. I'm STILL not sure I've forgiven Jason Marquis for that inning, and he's been pitching great for us this year.)

This is one reason why I am not a follower of base ball; teams are a quaint by-word. "Employees" and "talent" is the new paradigm in big $ sports.
