He's on the move!

Santa is coming! Currently working his way across Russia, chasing the terminator, and blowing the laws of physics right out of the water! Well, that's what you get when you give a magical elf a sleigh and an impossible deadline.

So get the cookies ready! Make sure there is sufficient clearance space under the tree for your loot! And for the love of Halford, clean your rooms! Santa simply will not come unless your room is clean! I learned that years ago!

C'mon, people, SANTA CLAUS IS ON HIS WAY!!!!

Actually, Santa's quite willing to overlook the untidiness of the entire apartment, if there's honey cake, baklava, and home-made Irish cream... :) (haven't got the last two made yet, but there's time.)

Ooh! My family used to make their own Kahlua (I was still in single-digit ages at the time, but I vaguely recall vodka and instant coffee being involved - maybe [livejournal.com profile] murphymom still has the recipe), but I'd love an Irish Cream recipe!

Recipes'R'Us... *grin*

IRISH CREAM

Mix together (wire whisk or egg beater work best):
1 tbsp. vanilla (don't even think of using imitation)
2 tbsp. chocolate syrup
2 tbsp. instant coffee or decaf
3 eggs
Add:
1 pint heavy cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups Irish whiskey

Enjoy...

KAHLUA

4 c. sugar
4 c. water
1 c. instant coffee granules (decaf is OK)
1 vanilla bean or 1 tbsp. vanilla (more is better!)
1 fifth vodka

Bring sugar and water to boil in medium size saucepan. Add
coffee, bring to a boil again. Split vanilla bean(s)
lengthwise and add to syrup. Cool completely. Add vodka.
Pour into clean glass bottles, seal, and store 2 to 3 weeks
before using.

NOTE: The longer it sits, the better.
