Breaking News! Ankle Mauled in San Francisco!

I had to go out this morning to stagger a few errands (on this hills, running is out of the question.) Dropped my disability check in the bank, hit a copy shop to get some stuff for the GURPS and At Close Quarters games at OryCon ("but they don't laminate!" he lamented) Considered stopping to rest and get a milkshake, but gotta save the money.. so up the hill to home.

I'm passing Santiago, past a couple of nice buildings that actually are set back a few feet and have strips of grass when suddenly my left ankle stings. Looking down, I see a tiny black and orange kitten attached to me, furiously attempting to bring me down through sock attrition. Been years since I was attacked by a kitten. I carefully sat down, detached kitten from cotton socks, and took a good look at her.

Gorgeous black fur with orange tufts (a Giants fan!) with white markings around the face. If she grows into those paws, this is going to be one big kitty.

Once in my hands, she went into "worship me" mode immediately. Big motor for such a baby kitty. So I sat there playing with the kitten for a few minutes. Then I heard a little girl behind me saying "Mom, she's out here with some man!"

Seems the attack kitten was making a break for it. The lady of the house was horrified by my tale of terrible combat between kitten and sock, but I assured her that I was fine, and that I had enjoyed a few moments with the kitten. Seems there's a litter of four, all black and orange to varying degrees.

I had been attacked by Barry.

I had been attacked by Barry.

At that age, don't you mean Darren?

LOL! That would have worked, but the kitties were born during the NLCS.

Barry, Benito, Rich and Dusty

Sounds like a keeper.

Are you going to go back when he is of adoptable age?

They said they are keeping all of them, and we can't have pets.

When we move, that's another story.

ROFL!! Having just recently been a victim of five, count 'em five, terminally cute Boxer puppies last night, all of whom thought my Birkenstock, complete with toes, made the *best* chew toy they could all think of, I got a good laugh out of this. Thanks, Doug, I needed that!
