I would just like to say

That Queensrÿche's album Empire may be one of the greatest under-rated albums of all time.

I prefer Operation: MINDCRIME, but there's personal reasons for that, especially "Eyes of a Stranger".

Oh, Mindcrime is the gold standard for Prog Metal. That's why I specified under-rated. I've always wondered if several songs from Empire weren't cast-offs from Operation: Mindcrime. Another Rainy Night (Without You), Empire, and Silent Lucidity would really fit in well.

Really? EMPIRE struck me as a much more successful and popular album, and at least according to Wiki and a couple other sites was, in fact, their most successful release. Operation:MINDCRIME was more their gate-opener -- successful, and probably more critically acclaimed because it was a concept album, but less successful and well-known than EMPIRE.

well, there was no shortage of airplay for it here - it was in heavy rotation practically the whole year I worked in Sears garage hell (Jun 90-Jun 91).

I didn't much care for the implicit either-or between law enforcement and the space program. Pop music has its limitations, but it can be a bit deeper than that, i.e. "Fear the Boom and the Bust" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0nERTFo-Sk).
