West Point

OK, it's a bunch of old-time football players. So what.

That's the team from the United States Military Academy at West Point of 1912. Second from the left is Cadet Dwight D. Eisenhower and second from the right is Cadet Omar Bradley.

Those two were members of the 1915 "class the stars fell on", if memory serves.

(West Point is one of two colleges I applied to. In retrospect, I'm pretty glad I didn't make it in; I'm nearly certain I'd have washed out, thereby losing a scholarship at the University of Houston [my eventual alma mater]. At least I spent a pleasant week on campus, with a bunch of other West Point hopefuls. Never seen a more impressive campus, although Vanderbilt is a close second).

Patton graduated in 1912, and was senior to both Eisenhower and Bradley until WWII. It's a credit to his professionalism that he accepted being leapfrogged so well.
