Meme, 10 good things

Post 10 things that are going right in your life right now. I don't care how small. You're happy with your cup of coffee. You saw a flock of geese flying over. ANYTHING. Things that make you happy. Things that make you smile. No pressure.

It's small and it's simplistic, but maybe for the time you are compiling your list, you'll forget about the bad going on and focus on something good.


  1. The Sarah Palin ethics report is out. GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!

  2. The Dodgers are down two games to none in the NLCS. Go Phillies!

  3. I survived a few hellish days at work, and came out looking good.

  4. There are several books waiting to be read this weekend.

  5. Also, a lot of good DVDs

  6. [livejournal.com profile] kshandra and I endure, even thrive on occasion.

  7. Nearly thirteen years of remission.

  8. Tommy Lasorda will not be the marshal of the SF Columbus Day parade.

  9. My watch is hyper-accurate.

that #1 isn't true:

Finding Number Two

I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

which of course, contradicts finding #1. especially since she didn't fire him but gave him a reassignment that he quit rather than accept. even Monegan says that firing the cop in question was never demanded:

"For the record, no one ever said fire Wooten. Not the governor. Not Todd. Not any of the other staff," Monegan said Friday from Portland. "What they said directly was more along the lines of 'This isn't a person that we would want to be representing our state troopers.' "
