NINERS WIN ONE!!!!

After a see-saw battle through 4 quarters, the game went to overtime knotted up at 31-all.

The Cardinals should have won on a 32 yard FG, but it went wide right.

After another SF punt, we pinned Arizona inside their 5 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, three Niners come through and force Kurt Warner to fumble. Tully Banta-Cain falls on the ball - TOUCHDOWN 49ERS!!!!

San Francisco 49ers: 37
Arizona Cardinals: 31

After eight straight losses, we needed that. Frank Gore came back to life as well. 21 carries for 116 yards and 2 TDs, 11 receptions for 96 yards.

GO NINERS!!!!

Good!

Great to see the Niners win more. Anything to screw the Patriots.

At last, we found a team more inept than ours!

I was sort of hoping that that winning play there had been a safety rather than than a fumble-and-recovery-for-touchdown. I was wondering if there had ever been a game decided in OT by a safety.

From what I understand, there have been two such games.

I'm a Saint Louisan and, therefore, a Rams fan (since 1995; when they were in the Los Angeles area, I was faintly annoyed by their existence). Fourteen weeks out of the year, I root for whoever's playing the 'Niners. When they play the Crudinals, though, I enjoy seeing the boys from San Francisco sending the Arizona Carpetbaggers down to defeat.

(And no, the fact that I now live in Arizona will never cause me to shift my loyalties to Arizona teams*. Once a Saint Louisan, always a Saint Louisan.)

*The one exception to this is in college sports. Though I am now, and always will be, a fan of the Tigers (Mizzou and LSU) I'll at least root for the Arizona Mildcats over any Pac-10 rival.

So how do you think the real Cards will do next year?
