Good morning!

Yesterday, I worked close to 12 hours in 100-degree heat.

I didn't get home until almost 2000hrs. Sleep didn't come until after midnight, and was fitful at best.

Damn right I stayed home today. I'm so groggy I'm not going to chance my bike, let alone a truck!

Okay, lemme hook you up in a few places to get started:

  • Apokiliptika - the parent camp in our not-a-village-this-year-but-we-got-screwed-so-we're-filing-as-a-village-next-year. Kernul Killbuck got fed up with the sheer volume of Mad-Max/post-apocalyptic stuff he saw out here, so he started a themecamp set in the days immediately prior to the apocalypse. Have a nice doom!
  • Terminal City - the village forums. I absolutely don't expect you to sign up for the ePlaya (though you certainly could, if you wanted Yet Another TimeSink), but I do recommend getting an account on the village board, just to keep up with who's planning what first-hand, rather than getting it through my filters.
  • I've probably mentioned this to you before, but Hengehold Trucks expressly rents to Burners. I like the idea of a rental company that knows what it's getting into. I can see a 250 being plenty of space; you figure [livejournal.com profile] dafydd and I managed with his 150, and that had a bedbox taking up a good chunk of room. A super cargo van would also open up some options by giving us a comparatively storm-proof place to sleep at night.

I'll talk to my boss about possibly bringing you on at DMV next year; as I think I've mentioned in the past, we don't normally bring in first-year Burners, but I can make a good case for you Getting It. Because I absolutely understand now where dafydd was coming from when he first brought me out; this is a job for me, and while I don't think I'd need to be as concerned with you finding things to do on your own as he was with me, it'd be nice to actually have you working my shifts. (Besides, they feed us. *grin*)

We'll talk more about this once I'm back.
