OK, let's try to get this organized!

For the last couple of years I've tried to get a group together to go to a Giants game for my birthday. Based on previous years, if we can get 20 or so people together, we can get a group rate.

The closest game to my birthday is July 1st, a 1305 start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

So, let's start getting organized!

Aren't the Arizona Cardinals their football team? I suspect you either mean the Arizona Diamondbacks or the St Louis Cardinals

That's the Sunday of Westercon this year. It's not too difficult to walk from the site of Westercon to the Caltrain station, and as I'm sure you're aware, taking Caltrain to the game is a great option. So possibly you should post something in westercons about this idea and see if you can get people interested.

If you really are interested in trying to rope people in through Westercon, let me know and I can probably get something into the progress reports.

I went to a Giants-Padres game during last year's Westercon, but alas, a lot fewer people went than I had hoped would go, and the chairman ended up paying for the unsold tickets out of his own pocket.

Alas, I cannot go -- that game will be starting around the time that Business Meeting is ending, and I'm Secretary. I would have to leave for the game around the time it was starting in order to attend.

I would be very bad company at a game, because I am really not lying when I say that baseball bores me to tears (when forced to go as a kid, I took a notebook and wrote Star Trek fic notes and notes for my Trav games) but I would like to see you if you are in town on your b-day.

How about the evening of Friday, June 29 (7:15 PM) instead? It's vaguely possible we may be able to get enough people (25) between you and BASFA and people coming in early for Westercon to go a group purchase, if we start plugging it now. I can put something into Westercon PR 2 if you're interested.
