In other news, we got most of the holiday shopping done today, and tonight is the Lord & Sons holiday party.

*grin* We did actually have a sermon on no.9 at our church last year, but I don't recall hearing any of the others preached. Much scholarly discussion on them, certainly.

Yeah, I don't recall most of them in sermons -- which are generally heard by the children as well as the adults -- but certainly they've been discussed in Bible classes, among older teens and adults. And I recall most of them from age 4 or 5, when Dad would read a chunk of the Bible at breakfast every morning, following one of the "read the BIble in a year" schedules. That's how I got puberty 101, too -- there's a bit where Rachel has stolen the household idols from her father's house, and when they come searching, she hides them under a camel saddle, sits on it, and says she cannot get up "for it is a woman's time".
