Threshold did get better. It suffered from extreme "lets figure out where we're going" syndrome.

About half way through the season they got it figured out, the writing improved and the direction they were heading was a bit different for TV.

One think I liked is they never mention that Ramsey was short with a form of dwarfism. The only time it's even acknowledged is when they are getting out of a government SUV and the driver puts down a step stool for him.
