The Schiavo circus is reaching fifteen rings now. Yesterday, we had the following amusing incidents.
FOX News, having run out of doctors who haven't examined Terri but still think they can diagnose her from watching heavily-edited video clips, interviewed John Edwards. Yes, John Edwards of "Crossing Over" infamy. Crooks and Liars had the Daily Show's take on the whole event. Then we had a would be commando try to steal a gun to "rescue Terri." This particular mensa reject tried to rob a gun store with a box cutter. Guess he didn't realize that a gun store owner might, oh, I don't know, have ready access to a gun ? The Littlest Crusader now faces charges of attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
Bob and Mary Schindler are still shopping for judges, having been denied yet another emergency order. They're now claiming that the entire judiciary is out to kill their daughter. Kids, your daughter died because of a heart attack brought on by an eating disorder. Deal with it.
In a sign of hope, polls show that an overwhelming percentage of Americans agree that Bush and the GOP screwed up by making this a federal case. This includes 63% of white evangelical Christians, Bush's alleged strongest supporters. If the Democratic National Committee is smart, they'll make the intrusion into private lives the centerpiece of the 2006 midterm campaign.

But consider, while she's been unable to walk, talk or in any way lead anything resembling a normal life, she hasn't had a single binge/purge episode in over fifteen years now. Isn't that fantastic?

When I saw that on the Daily Show, I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
