Black Friday

I survived.

It wasn't the customers that were driving me nuts, it was the idiotic seasonals we hired. I swear to Ghu, none of them listen, and only one of them seems to understand that a job requires some effort!

An example. For most of my shift yesterday, I was first cashier. That means I was chained to my register. I could go straighten up the impulse rack, and restock the registers, but that was it. I had two other cashiers with me, and when it got slow, I asked them to do some recovery work, like go-backs and the like.

They whinged and complained, then did a drag-ass job of it.

Look kids, we have *three* people here to close the store, and one hour to do it. I am not going to have three full carts of go backs to deal with when I have two healthy bodies to put them away before we close.

... WORK? Dear GOD, what are you THINKING? They're there to get PAID. They're gracing you with their presence and actually are taking hours and hours out of their busy schedule to BE there, and you are so ungrateful as to demand they expend EFFORT as well? You... reactionary slave-driver, you.
