The problem was there wasn't any consistancy behind Bonds.

The five-spot was platooned between A.J. Pierzynski (C) and J.T. Snow (1B)for most of the season. They batted .272 and .327 (JT's numbers went up after surgery in July.

We need a good strong bat in the 5 and 6 spots to move Bonds when he's walked.

We also need a closer. Not a converted starter, but someone who can throw 15-30 pitchers for three outs day in and day out.
