Revenge of the Sith.

That's the Title for Star Wars Episode III. I'm not really thrilled. Didn't like I, haven't even seen II. but something struck me.

Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi
Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith

The same word count, and stylistically the same. The first film of each trilogy has a somewhat mysterious title. The second refers to combat and action, the third to a group that is coming back in some way.

Nice little touch there.

I kind of like it, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Two's worth seeing. While it's not necessarily on par with the originals, it still pounds ep. 1 into the dust.

for the record (if I recall right) return of the jedi was going to be revenge of the jedi originaly. At least I recall a friend at a con buying a pre-change cardboard cutout with the old name.

Based on what we've been seeing in the last two films Lucas has released, I think this pattern you're seeing is just a symptom of his having run out of imagination with the original trilogy... but that could be a bitter cynic talking. ;)

No, no. Damn Revisionists!

The first movie is "Star Wars". There was no "A New Hope". That was added later. (I not only saw it multiple times first-run, but you can check with IMDB about the changes).

As others noted, Return was originally Revenge; my friend Dana has one of the posters advertising "Revenge of the Jedi".

At least this is better than the title leaked a few months ago: The Creeping Fear.

Nonetheless, as the latter two movies have sucked like black holes, I have no interest in seeing the third unless it's revealed, as I've contended for years, that Yoda is the bad guy behind it all.
