Denied!

The Boston Pops aren't on TV! Bummer!

Update

Well, turns out they were on TV, on CBS to be precise. An hour-long cut-down that removed much of the joy of the concert and didn't show the 1812 Overture! Instead we got The Stars and Stripes Forever and fifteen minutes of televised fireworks. Argh. The reason a Russian composition celebrating a victory over Napolean has become an American standrard for July 4th is because the Boston Pops play it every year on television!

Needless to say, I'm writing CBS a nasty note.

Oh, they did the 1812 Overture- at the beginning of the show-part of it.
Ghods, let the networks get their little paws on things and they turn it to shit.....

Say WHAT?

They edited the Overture? The thing is one of tghe most poignant musical tales ever written! Every movement tells part of the story of the invasion, winter, and retreat! You do NOT edit the Overture!
