I learned an important little lesson this weekend.

Codeine, when taken by epileptics, has about the same effect as meth. I was using Kirsten's cough syrup, and then couldn't sleep. For two days.

Hmm.. Maybe I should go score some meth so I can sleep...

Hooray for idiosyncratic drug reactions

Okay, first you should probably pelt me with slings and arrows because I'm one of those with a Constitution score of E.

However I have friends...

My lovely wife (geojlc) who has bad (heart palpatations) from Pseudoephedrine, but Codine is just fine (no woo-woo drug reactions, just no pain). Isn't love grand? On the cross Canada leg of our Seattle - Glacier National Park trip we picked up 44's from a Canadian pharmacy.

My best friend (skyrigdon) who has some good ones? Nyquil--kept him up for three days straight. Tylenol--puts him to sleep. At least one antibiotic he's taken induced paranoia.

So, I definitely can empathize with the drug reaction problem.

Whenever I get a cold or allergies, I wind up playing "Wheel... of... Side-effects!" myself. I took Sudafed and Robutusin once, and wound up sleeping with my eyes open for most of the day. This was my senior year in HS, really messed with my teachers since apparently I was snoring, but still answering questions.
