Call Rome.

Beware of flying pigs, and prepare for ice-skating in Hell.

For I agree with Pat Buchanan...

OMG me too.

OH dear. It looks like I have to eat a few boots, sans ketchup.

I hear that the atmosphere in Hell is begining to solidify.

Yeah.

I've always sort of dismissed Buchanan - the only time I ever supported him was when I was still self-identifying as a conservative. I voted for him once in a Republican primary, as a protest and without seriously wanting him to win.

But you know, my foreign policy preferences are still more conservative than not, and Buchanan certainly makes a lot more sense on that front than the incompetent loons we have in the White House at the moment.

Even a broken clock's right twice a day.

I can't say I agree with everything he wrote, but still...

To my surprise, I do too.

But I think we're coming at it from different angles. Buchanan seems to think it desirable and practical that we, as a nation, put up a wall and live in our own little gated community. I disagree; just as the most obvious example, if we were somehow able to completely/magically close the Mexican border, California's economy would collapse within a week. However, I do think there are better roles for us to play in the international community than the drunken frat-boy bully looking for a fight, who doesn't understand why everyone thinks he's a jerk.

That was more or less my reaction, too.
