I was designing some worlds, with the Olympics on for background noise, when the announcer told us that there would be biathlon coverage. I dropped everything and headed for the couch.

I love biathlon, it is one of my favorite winter sports, and nobody ever covers it! Ever at the Olympics, I've had to search for results in the paper and never get to see these great athletes at work.

Today was different. A full hour on the men's 12.5km chase. The winner was shooting his rifle like a bloody assault weapon, and only missed two targets out of 20.

The other interesting thing was he was the only one using a lever action rifle.

But a very odd lever it was! Set up on the grip of all things. I'd love to give on of those a try on the range some day.
