The last two times a medic smiled at me...

one had just drawn a straight after dropping three cards during a poker game in a tent at Fort Irwin. I was holding jacks over sevens.

the second was saying "Wow, that's cool!" as he admired my separated shoulder after a M-113 crash at Fort Benning.

I'm hiding under the bed now.
