Wow.

Last night, Rafael Furcal, shortstop for the Atlanta Braves, pulled off a trick that had only been done 11 times before in Major League history: the unassisted triple play.

With runners on first and second, Furcal made a leaping grab of Woody Williams' line drive. Out #1. He then stepped on second base to get out #2 since the runner on second hadn't managed to get back to the base. Furcal then tagged the runner from first for the third out. Watching the highlight, I don't think Furcal really understood what he did until somebody pointed it out.

The Giants used their 13th starting pitcher of the season, rookie Kevin Correia. He went six innings (three longer than he's ever pitched at any level) and gave up 7 hits, 4 walks, and one run. Pretty impressive.
