Free Your Mind

[livejournal.com profile] kshandra and I saw The Matrix Reloaded last night.

In the immortal words of Neo: Woah.

This is not a mindless summer action flick. While it has incredible action scenes (including some of the best martial arts ever put on the screen and a fourteen minute car chase that sets the new world standard) it explores many interesting concepts like fate, destiny, and what it means to be truly free. Do not check your brain at the door for this film!

Wisely, the directors let Hugo Weaving chew the scenery as Agent Smith. He's so much fun to watch. We also get to see the city of Zion, and get so more detail on the character's backgrounds.

Like any middle film, this is a set up for the final installment, Matrix Revolution, coming this fall. After the shocking revelations in this one, I can't wait to see how it all ends!

Did you catch the sneak trailer for The Matrix Revolution? It's right after the credits finish.

Indeed. I loved the action (and the subtle humour in parts) and spent quite sometime after the film discussing choice and fate and control and belief with the boything....
