Consume, consume, consume

The Ecological Footprint Quiz.

Category Acres
Food 5.9
Mobility 0.2
Shelter 3.2
Goods/Services 3.2
Total 12.5

In comparison, The average Ecological Footprint in your country is 24 acres per person.
Worldwide, there exist 4.5 biologically productive acres per person.

If everyone lived like you we would need 2.8 planets.

(I have to not that this quiz was designed by computers built with toxic elements and placed on the power-sucking Internet which connects more toxic, power hungry computers. Needless to say, I'm not wracked with guilt.)

You actually got a somewhat low score for an American. I think it just wants you to be a vegetarian, really.

Also, do you live in a ranch house? That tends to count for a lot.

Hm. Either the world population suddenly zoomed between you doing this quiz and me doing it, or we're losing land awfully fast.

Or someone's fudging something somewhere.

I took the thing, told it I was vegan, lived in a 500 square foot house with 7 other people, had no water, took pub trans everywhere, never flew, and had a motorbike that got over 80 miles to the gallon.

Evidently, if we all lived like that, we'd still need 1.1 planets.

Somehow, I just can't feel guilty.
