The Pink Death can go away anytime now.

Yesterday, as noted, Kiri had to schlep me over to the doctor's for a state mandated office visit. That, and a few minutes spent dropping of the form at the Sixth Circle of Hell medical secretaries' office was the extent of my day out. At home, I did a few dishes.

Today, I'm completely wiped out. The aches are back, I woke up with a fever, and I'm coughing again. So I'm not doing anything today other than playing Civ IV and drinking fluids. The body hurt so bad that I had to take a vicodin.

Folks, get your flu shots. This thing sucks as bad as any medical problem I've had since pneumonia.

I'm now going to do something I really don't like to do. I'm passing the hat.

While we will get a disability payment for this time, it won't show up for several weeks. In the meantime, we're running on the ragged edge. [livejournal.com profile] kshandra put up a post with a PayPal link in her journal. If you can help, thanks.

My best game yet!

Civ IV geek details: Fractal map, standard size world, temperate climate, standard sea level, Chieftain difficulty. I was playing the Indian Empire under Asoka. As it turned out the map generated with two largish continents. I shared my continent with the English (Victoria), the Spanish (Isabella), and the Russians (Peter the Great). The other continent had France (Louis XIV), Greece (Alexander), and the Mongolians (Genghis Kahn).

This got long. . . )
