Heavy Metal Sunday enjoys guest appearances.

When Kurt Cobain killed himself it was a shock and great loss to the world of rock. There was, however, one silver lining to that dark cloud; it allowed Dave Grohl to get out from behind Nirvana's drum kit and become the lead man for the Foo Fighters. The Foos have gone on to become one of rock's better acts both in the studio and on the road.

They also have a grand tradition of inviting rock's royalty to play with them. Not content with covers, they prefer getting the original sound. Like in today's video. Ladies and gentlemen, the Foo Fighters, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones.. Rock and Roll

Next week we're getting ready to hit the road with the Priest!

Remember "Putting on the Hits"?

It was a show that ran in the mid-eighties where contestants would lip-sync and perform to popular songs. Some pretty talented people on that show. I enjoyed it. Last night, here at Offhand Manor, [livejournal.com profile] kshandra and I had our own little version.

To set the scene, I'm at the computer desk listening to my "Top Rated" folder on iTunes. She's a few feet to left at her desk listening to something on the headphones. She starts "singing" along silently just as I get the start of Stairway to Cleveland. so i start lip-syncing and doing a little chair dance.

She finally caved and took the 'phones off to see what I was listening to that was making me bounce around like that. I still don't know what she had on her side.
