The monkey on his back didn't make it in though..

Congrats to 49er great Steve Young, first-year Hall of Fame inductee!

Marino, Young Elected to Hall of Fame

Dan Marino and Steve Young made it a great day for quarterbacks when both were elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Marino, the most prolific passer in NFL history, and Young, whose accuracy and speed made him one of football's most versatile QBs, were joined by Benny Friedman, an early-era quarterback, and Fritz Pollard.

...

Young, the first modern-era left-handed quarterback elected, won the 1995 Super Bowl with San Francisco and was the league's most valuable player in 1992 and '94. A clever runner with a strong arm and great field vision, Young made seven Pro Bowls and was a three-time All-Pro. He held the highest passer rating in league history (96.8) when he retired in '99. He also set the highest single-season rating of 112.8, which Manning also broke this season.

Young spent much of his early career backing up Joe Montana.. when Montana left the Niners for the Chiefs, the pressure on Young to step into the shoes of San Francisco's greatest hero was immense. During the 1995 Superbowl, as time ran out, Young shouted to teammates "somebody get this monkey off my back!"

The monkey, currently living on Donovan McNabb's back, was unavailable for comment.

Chicks Dig Giant Robots!

Megas XLR is by far one of the best cartoons on TV today. Consistently funny, poking fun at both the conventions of the genre (anime-0style giant robot battles) and our own culture.

Short form: Jersey City gearhead and slacker friend find a giant robot from the future in a junkyard. Coop, the gearhead, modifies the robot. Then the owners come looking for it, then the aliens it was meant to fight show up...

Tonight, Coop accidently loads a Galactic Prison cartridge into his X-box, thinking it's a video game. This releases dozens of world-beating monsters. Hilarity ensues.

What moved me to post about it was the main monster looked suspiciously like The Tarrasque of D&D fame.

Gamers. We're everywhere!
