Now that's more like it!

Despite feeling miserable (I've picked up some kind of bug) I watched my Giants last night

San Francisco Giants 5
Los Angeles Dodgers: 3

The nice thing about this win is it didn't depend on Barry Bonds. It was those other guys, led by Jerome Williams' excellent pitching over 8 2/3rds innings, that won this game. Players came out of slumps, we fielded well, and Felipe let the team run wild on the base paths.

The only troubling spot was Neifi Perez. He chose Saturday night to begin his experiment in batting right handed. With his average already down to .197, he went 0-4.

Oh, like the new icon? deathbytamarind, a fellow lover of the Orange and Black, lost a bet and has to use a Dodgers icon for a week. So I snagged the icon and played with it. The other one I made has "BEAT" sprayed over the LA logo. She's welcome to use them afterthe bet is up.

Some graphics and Madden football help needed.

OK, I've tried to redo the graphics for my team a few times, and I'm getting frustrated.

I have several pieces that need to have a background of R=255, B=0 G=255 to create the "transparent color for the game. Evidently, I haven't done it yet. Can anyone help me? I have the icons, and they should work! I'll mail them to anyone (and everyone) willing to give it a shot. Normally, they are stored as .BMP, and current are in the right format and size. If you're also a Traveller geek, the base image is a red sunburst (like this one, but red.) I can send that along if you are feeling creative and want to really put me in place.

Secondly, once these are done, I need to adjust the default settings for my franchise's logos and stadium, but I can't find out where to do that in the game! Do I need to rebuild the Imperials from scratch and start over? Can changes only be made at the end of the season? Or can I just edit them now? I'm using, as I think I mentioned, Madden 2003 for the PC.

Oh, if whoever volunteers to fix my icons ends up doing better versions, you're in the next thing I wrote for Traveller. If multiple people help, it goes for all of you.

Tributes to Pat Tillman

There have been several declared and proposed memorials to Pat Tillman. I thought I'd share a few.

The plaza outside the Cardinals new stadium will be Pat Tillman Plaza.

There is a proposal to rename the stadium that Army plays its home games in Tillman Field.

Also, the Army is considering renaming the venerable Darby Queen confidence course after Tillman.

It has been suggested that the number 40 be retired by the NFL. The Cardinals will retire his number, and his college will do the same.
