Not the right way to make ESPN

Fun night in the Maddenverse where my 49ers ran all over the reeling Tampa Bay Buccaneers 45-25. It should have 45-19 but for a freaky interception return for a touchdown. That was juggled by at least five people, mine and his, before a corner back grabbed the ball and scampered into the end zone. No, but the story of the game was the Buc's hapless place kicker. Not only was he 0-3 on field goals, he managed to miss 3 of the 4 point after touchdown kicks he attempted.

After a team scores a touchdown (carry the ball across the goal line or catching the ball in the end zone) for six points, the ball is placed on the 2 yard line, and the team that just scored can elect to run another play and if they get the ball into the end zone they get 2 points, or kick the ball through the goal posts for 1 point. From where the ball is placed for the kick to the posts is about 20 yards. Professional place kickers are supposed to hit from 20 yards in their sleep. The good ones can make accurate kicks of over 50 yards.

After the fourth attempt sailed wide right, I began imagine how the One True Sportscenter Team would have called his efforts. I'm picturing Dan Patrick at his most droll.
