Ah, trotting out the old Satanic panic again, are we? That one never gets old, unfortunately. Amusing how the FBI under a Republican administration investigated and then denounced the idea of a Satanic conspiracy, yet the idea keeps on getting rolled back out to scare people into line.
The tactics employed here are as old as civilization, but it took Microsoft to give them a name that sticks: FUD: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. Mis- and disinformation at its finest. Certainty is held up as the highest virtue, even if you're certain that you don't know why you're certain. Long as you have no doubts, you're fine, apparently. Seems another old adage applies: "Ignorance is bliss."
