If you have unlimited online time, there are free mmrpgs. I've been playing on Aeria.com [in Imagine, Shaiya & the Kitsu sage] -

and I've just started play on LotRonline

[both use the 'you can buy stuff online to get different classes, more adventures and better equipment' - but the games play just fine at the 'free' levels ... because I'm pretty much too cheap to pay ^_^]
