Game 2, mind the puddle of Texas bullpen pitchers.

San Francisco Giants: 9
Texas Rangers: 0

Giants lead the World Series 2-0. Halfway to our first championship since 1954 and our first ever in San Francisco.

Matt Cain pitched 7.2 innings of great ball. 4 hits, 2 walks (one intentional) and no runs. But the game was close until the eighth inning, when the Rangers' pitching burned down, fell over, and then sank into McCovey Cove. Here's the summary:

Giants eighth. O'Day pitching. Torres struck out. F. Sanchez struck out. Posey singled to center. Holland pitching. Schierholtz walked on four pitches, Posey to second. Ross walked on four pitches, Posey to third, Schierholtz to second. Huff walked, Posey scored, Schierholtz to third, Ross to second. Lowe pitching. Uribe walked on a full count, Schierholtz scored, Ross to third, Huff to second. Renteria singled to left, Ross scored, Huff scored, Uribe to third. Fontenot pinch-hitting for Lopez. Kirkman pitching. Rowand pinch-hitting for Fontenot. Rowand tripled to right, Uribe scored, Renteria scored. A.Torres doubled to left, Rowand scored. F.Sanchez struck out.

Four straight walks. Four different pitchers. Seven runs on four hits all coming with two outs in the inning! Freddie Sanchez struck out twice in the eighth!

Remember everyone, the Texas Rangers were the team with the big bats while the Giants were considered to be weak-hitting. So far in the Series, we've outscored them 20-7.

Series resumes Saturday in Arlington. We now have five chances to win two games.

I'm really beginning to believe this is possible. It's real. We're in the World Series, playing like champions, and showing no signs of slowing down.

GO GIANTS!!!!

I live in Dallas, as a reminder. Consider that when I say unto you, "Go Giants."

It's all part of the evil plan to get them out of bankrupsy.

Bookies are taking a beating.

I was chatting with a friend via IM earlier and they were watching the game, and noted that "the Texas bullpen is imploding." I figured that you would be pleased.

Did you have a preference between chili and spaghetti sauce? I make a mean spaghetti sauce, and any chili I send you would be, in the phrasing of my ancestors, "store-boughten".

I watched the game last night (you may have noticed my post about the "slaughter rule") and was really excited. I didn't realize the Giants had never won a series in SF. That being the case, even this die-hard Dodgers fan is saying, "Go Giants!"

The Giants have been playing very well, and are long overdue for another title. As for the Rangers, they have my gratitude for dispatching the hated, aged, overrated Yankees.
