Meet The Texas Republican Party. And this doesn't even begin to cover their hateful anti-gay statements. Remember, this is their actual platform.

Wait, they want to get rid of the Federal Reserve?

I mean, among all the other kooky crazed asstarding, they're both against pre-k/headstart programs (but are for education "reform," somehow?) AND getting rid of the Federal Reserve?

What the fucking fuck?

Maybe the Union should secede from Texas. Asshats!

I wish I could give a thorough and objective critical reply to this agenda. Right now, the only word that comes to mind is "rabid".

As an aside, I ended up in New Jersey a few days ago. On my way back to the train, stumbled onto a banner proclaiming some Congress candidate as "Tea Party Endorsed". Was very tempted to swipe it.

I'll speculate that education "reform" means "get rid of anything that they didn't teach in my great-great-grandpappy's day. After all, g'g'grandpappy went to school for six months in a one-room schoolhouse, and that was good enough for him, so it should be good enough for anyone.

Getting rid of the Federal Reserve probably means "only gold or silver coin," which many people think is a panacea for all ills. (It isn't; it has its own economic problems, but you can't reason with the Gold Bugs.)

I reckon most of these people don't really care that it would make things worse for most people, because they all assume they would be part of the 1% on top. It's like some forms of radical libertarianism, which IMO leads to gangsterism before settling down into a feudal state. You don't care if most people are miserable if you're the Lord of the Manor.

That was a very scary read.
