Screen shot from the end of my latest Civ Iv game:

Domination win

What can I say? I was in the mood to crush my enemies under my bootheels.

That score box is a graphic representation of the relative scores as the game progresses. This is a recap screen you get at game's end. I (Byzantium) show up as gray on the map and score bar. The only other two survivors were Joao II of Portugal (who became my vassal after I took half his cities from him) who is dark green on the map/score box, and Montezuma of the Aztecs who is light green. Those score bars that cut off are nations I conquered completely. The big bright blue line were the Thai, the upper blue-gray line was the Koreans, the light blue line was the Maya, and the pinkish-red were the Spanish. That little blue blip near the end came from Isabella of Spain spinning off her offshore colonies to a new leader. He lasted about five turns.

Actually they were on the main continent. That sort of peninsula-looking thing just to right of the three dark green islands? He had several cities there, including Lisbon. That island was where Roosevelt (vassal of Isabella) had been set up. And it was more Sherman-like than you know. There were two small, Pop 1 settlements at the western end of that island. You can't capture cities that small, they're automatically razed to the ground.
