I think a bit of it is going on Gratuitous Space Battles.

They blow up real good. No plot. No diplomacy. Build ships. Give them orders. ATTACK!!!

Looks like a brilliant game. I might take a look at it later.

If I only had time (and money to spend on) for new games. I bought some games from the Steam sale during the holidays and there's of course always EVE, so there's lots to play.
