How long have you been on LJ?

According to LJ, I've been on since March 14, 2001. I didn't post regularly for the first couple of months.

What is the real purpose of your journal?

It doesn't really have one. Part amusement, part writing exercise, part place to rant.

How much of you life do you really chronicle? bits and pieces? Most of it? All of it? Only certain aspects?

Bits and pieces. To be honest, my life is fairly boring. I'm not going to post "tired again, watched Sportscenter, ate some cereal" on a daily basis. I'm posting the things that are noteworthy.

Do you ever fear that friends or family, co-workers or the like may happen upon and read your journal and be influenced in their opinions of you by what they read?

If I felt that I wouldn't have the journal.

Do you ever NOT post something because you're afraid of how people will take it?

All the time.

Is there anything too sacred to share with the general journal reading public?

Yes. There are a few things that I'm not going to share even with my friends list. For example, certain details of my trips to Oregon and New York.

Are there people on your friends lists whose journals you seldom read, but possibly skim only once or twice a week? (Don't name them..)

Yes. There a few people who I keep on because they are connected to other friends.

How often do you comment and how do you decide whether to comment?

I'm a comment slut. If I have something to say I'm going to do it!

Do you expect all of your friends to read all of your posts? (Barring LJ cut stuff, quiz results and surveys like this one)

No. If they want to, they're free to do so.

  1. How long have you been on LJ?

    Since March 16th, 2001

  2. What is the real purpose of your journal?

I have to have a purpose other than writing what I'd like to when I'd like to? :)

  3. How much of you life do you really chronicle? bits and pieces? Most of it? All of it? Only certain aspects?

I end up writing only bits and pieces.

  4. Do you ever fear that friends or family, co-workers or the like may happen upon and read your journal and be influenced in their opinions of you by what they read?

Not really, only the people I wish to have access to my journal.

  5. Do you ever NOT post something because you're afraid of how people will take it?

I certainly don't post all about me, there are some items I just discuss with a few individuals in other online areas.

  6. Is there anything too sacred to share with the general journal reading public?

Well, I do tie all my posts down to friends only and there's others I heavily filter.

  7. Are there people on your friends lists whose journals you seldom read, but possibly skim only once or twice a week? (Don't name them..)

I read most of what appears on my friend's page, but it does vary.

  8. How often do you comment and how do you decide whether to comment?

Whether or not the post grabs me and it inspires me to say something.

  9. Do you expect all of your friends to read all of your posts? (Barring LJ cut stuff, quiz results and surveys like this one)

They can read as little or as much as they want to... sometimes I post a lot, sometimes I don't ... just depends upon my mood and my muse.
