Beep!

Not a cultural reference everyone is going to get, but if you're my age, you watched the show just for this moment.

*laughter* I guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone accumulated all of the start-of-show messages. I bet it's something that sounded like a good idea when they started the show and then turned into a grind to actually do every week.

And now you've earwormed me as well. :)

Bet you he got the machine just to not have to hear, "Hi Jim, this is Angel....." !

And now I hear the opening lines of electric organ music...

I loved that show. I was re-watching it through Netflix a couple years back before I hit on rough times. Such a good show and at the time somewhat unconventional.

Ha! Haven't thought of the show in *years*, now Thursday Night it was the answer to one of the Audio Round (TV Mysteries) questions at Geeks Who Drink Trivia...now this.

Funny, that.

Now I have the theme from the 'Rockford Files' running through my head. ...but it's a GOOD theme.

Once I read the subject I immediately started whistling the theme song. :)

Damn, it's an epidemic -- a swarm? An infestation? -- of ear worms. That theme was a classic, and I LOVED the Files.

Early on in Smallville when the Talon was resurrected, they started changing the marquee with cute messages. You can tell it got old for them fairly quickly, as they started re-using the earlier shots that didn't fully reveal the message (wussies -- Home Improvement used to do custom effects for almost every commercial break, and for some segues).

(ponders a cure for the worm)

ahh.. good memories. I loved that show. I've been thinking of renting the box set of one of the seasons to show my wife. She hasn't been too enthusiastic when I mention it though. Jim Rockford was cool.

Sorry for intrusion, I found your journal after doing an interest search on "megadeth".
