Way back in June, I went in to renew my driver's license. After some drama, I was fingerprinted, photographed, and issued an interim license and told that my new license would be in the mail soon.

That was two months ago, and my interim license expired on Friday. Since I sort of need a valid driver's license to do my freaking job, I am more than a little upset. I have an 800 number for the DMV, but when I called last week I was told that they couldn't help me until the interim expired.

So now I'm going to have to call in to work tomorrow and have kshandra drive me over to the DMV. Where I am going to stand on desks until this issue is fucking resolved. I am leaving that building in one of two ways: with an extension on my license with a new one on the way, or in handcuffs. I am that angry.

Is there a local media Web site you'd recommend, or do you expect your potential response to make national headlines? Also, you might want to set up a legal defense fund before heading over to the DMV, just in case....

And that is complete and utter bullshit. If those really are the rules, somebody needs to hold a fire under a few legislators to get the rules changed to something more sensible.
