Heavy Metal Sunday throws one more cover on the pile.

Warm enough yet? I'll admit I got a little overheated when I went to pull the embed code for today's video and found that it had been pulled. But luckily, there's a live version!

Last year Kerrang! released a tribute disc, Maiden Heaven featuring Iron Maiden covers by both established and newer metal acts. It was a mixed bag, to say the least, but one standout was Machine Head's cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name. I was going to show you the music video they put together, but that's been pulled. Instead we go to the one of best music festivals in the world, Rock in Rio (actually held in Lisbon, Portugal), for Machine Head's first live performance of this Maiden classic.

Warning: Robb Flynn drops about twenty f-bombs in this one.

Oh, what the hell.. one more cover.

Funny

Is it just a classical cover of a heavy metal cover of Pachelbel's Canon in D or am I missing something?

for odd covers, theres a bluegrass band that does covers of bands like Queen, AC/DC, KISS among others called Hayseed Dixie..
they are great fun..

although my favorite is an estonan band called Rondellus who did an album called “Sabbatum” is a tribute album like no other – 12 Black Sabbath classic songs played by early music band Rondellus and sung in Latin language
www.sabbatum.com
it opens with a cover of War Pigs
