In a world where they need beer in Atlanta...

Two notables died today. Don LaFontaine was perhaps the greatest voice doing movie trailers of our time. His rich voice and trademark "In a world.." opener made him quietly famous. Here, he exploits that fame in a Geico commercial. It's even funnier when you realize that he worked from a home studio called "the hole" off faxed scripts.

Jerry Reed was a great country singer, guitarist, and one of the all time rednecks. Most people remember him as "Snowman" in Smokey and the Bandit Jerry drove the truck while Burt Reynolds raced around the countryside. I think Jerry got the better deal.

Aw damn. I knew about La Fontaine, but not Reed.
