Heavy Metal Sunday comes from the short end of the EM spectrum

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dalen_talas for pointing this band out to me. Gamma Ray is a German speed/power metal band that in recent years has done what can best be termed science-fiction concept albums. Interesting stuff.

Today, you get Land of the Free live.

...did I piss you off or something?

Not really, I just got tired of the constant theme of "6A/LJ/SUP" are awful, and I'm leaving soon." I found myself writing an extremely sarcastic reply to one of your posts that would have killed our friendship dead. I thought better of it, but decided that I should not read your journal because it was starting to annoy me.

In other words, yes. You're implying that I'm squawking about doing something I'm never going to do, though, and that I have to answer.

I am on IJ because Lightning War is on IJ; I'm keeping LJ for social reasons but only as Basic. I'm not giving them another cent, and I have in fact kept my word on that since I made that statement--I turned automatic billing off on every paid account I owned, which at that point in time was 14.

I don't think you're aware that since Lightning War has been running since 2003, I've thrown somewhere close to a thousand dollars at those people (remember invite codes? I bought paid accounts at $20-25 a pop for my characters so other people could make characters at all--even in 2003 I was giving them over $100 that year) and I need to save that money from now on and put it into a fund to buy server space of our own that we control, so I never wake up again and find that bits of the thing I've spent the last five years working on have been killed out from under me, because I got them back from Barak Berkowitz but I sure won't from this Nossik character.

So we moved it. That's what we moved.

Why would you even want to say something to me that would kill our friendship? Are you that pleased with SUP? I don't get it. It's not like there aren't a lot of other things we both care more about that matter.
