Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow.

Just back from the set of the remake of Marathon Man the dentist.

Five extractions. I no longer have any molars. Or premolars, which accounted for two of today's evictees. I suspect that when the anesthesia wears off, my life is going to suck.

One thing really annoyed me. We tried to take impressions (a necessity for dentures.) I managed the upper one, but doing the lower triggered my gag reflex so badly that I spit the damn form out with enough force for it to hit the wall. I hate that I cannot control my body's reactions for one freaking minute. This needs to be done. There is no other option. I have to control this.

Sort of like my work day. I came in at 0500 today because I needed to be out the door by 1300 so I could make my 1500 dentist appointment. Got it? The main reason this was an issue was an order heading to Stockton. This order has caused me trouble before. So the idea was I'd load these pallets, whatever else couldn't be put off until Friday, and get the hell out of Dodge.

It would have helped if Tim or I knew where the pallets were. We have a big warehouse. At 0500, Tim and I were the only ones there. I finally found them in the Will Call area. Makes sense to store material for delivery in the area where we store material waiting for customer pick up. Sure.

Day goes well enough, until I reach the Port of Stockton. I'm carrying close to 5,000lbs of material for these guys, none of which is really able to be hand-offloaded.

They don't have a forklift. These folks originally wanted this stuff last month and they put off leasing a Grade-All until today? I sat there for the better part of an hour before the damn thing showed up!

Made it back in plenty of time. But still.

I hate that casting goop too -- it took three or four tries for them to do the one for my implant (and that was a single upper tooth). The doc himself finally had to come in and do it after the nurse failed several times to get a decent impression.

I hope you feel better, Doug.

I -so- relate to the 'Marathon Man' reference. I would've told them where the diamonds were ... if I knew. Or anything else. for that matter, at the threat of -anything- done to my teeth. [shudders]

there are meds that would help.....
